Lakes to Dales Landscape Designation Project

A proposal to extend the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks

We would like to hear your views

We are very fortunate to have some fantastic landscapes in the North West of England, many of which are already legally protected as National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

For some years there has been discussion about whether the area between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales National Parks should have the same level of landscape protection. Natural England has now produced proposals for extending the two National Parks and this website seeks your views about these proposals.

The consultation ends on 17th March 2010. Please ensure that you respond before this date.

Please note: answers to frequently asked questions which have arisen during the consultation, are now available on this website. Follow the link for more information.
